Pretty Scenery

We spent 4 hours on Lake Windermere and covered just the Northern half of it. It's very pretty and obviously there's a lot of money in the area. Some of the houses are quite large and have sweeping lawns that run down to boathouses on the lake. Kilroy is thinking of buying a place there I think.

The view back towards Bowness-on-Windermere.

The view up (Northwards) the lake. The valley visible on the right is a prime example of glacial erosion. The very erosion that carved the lakes themselves -so be thankful.

More views, more glacial erosion, more lake.

It's a pretty place.

As we were approaching the Northern part of the lake we spotted this house on the left. Obviously Mock-Tudor it was very pretty.

Another view - wouldn't you like to live here?

As we kept on moving we realised how big the bloody place was. Note it continues back on the left, yet you can see more of it above the boact that was moored there.

Pretty impressive place, however we soon realised that there were plenty more large houses along the shore. As I said previosuly plenty of money up North.

Another large lakeside house/castle.

Kilroy managed to get his cap into this one.

A small village at the Northern end of Lake Windermere. Not very big but I'm sure it's very touristy.
